Center the title Works Cited at the top
Use double spacing throughout
Use 1-inch margins
Use a hanging indent for each entry
Alphabetize entries by the author’s last name
If there is no author, alphabetize by the title
Put the author’s last name first, then first name
Italicize titles of books, websites, journals, and films
Put article titles, chapter titles, and webpage titles in quotation marks
Include the publication date when available
Include the publisher for books and other sources when needed
Include page numbers for articles or book chapters when available
Include the URL for online sources when required
Use the same formatting style for every entry
Match each in-text citation to a Works Cited entry
Use the author’s last name and page number in in-text citations when applicable
