How To Do Surface Area Of A Prism?

Find the area of the two bases.

Find the area of each lateral face.

Add all the face areas together.

Use the formula: Surface Area = 2B + Ph

B = area of the base

P = perimeter of the base

h = height of the prism

For a rectangular prism: SA = 2lw + 2lh + 2wh

For a triangular prism: SA = 2(base area) + (perimeter of triangle)(length of prism)

Make sure all measurements use the same units
