Repair cracks, holes, and dents
Sand rough areas
Apply painter’s tape to trim and edges
Prime the wall if needed
Choose a texture method
Mix the texture material
Load the texture tool or sprayer
Test the texture on scrap material
Apply the texture to the wall in even passes
Build texture gradually to the desired look
Let the texture dry completely
Lightly sand high spots if needed
Apply paint or finish coat after drying
