Turn off and unplug the washing machine
Shut off the water supply
Place towels or a shallow pan under the drain area
Locate the drain hose or pump filter
Lower the drain hose into a bucket if available
Remove the drain hose cap or clamp carefully
Let the water drain fully
Open the pump filter cover slowly if your machine has one
Drain any remaining water into a container
Clean the filter and remove any debris
Reattach the hose or filter securely
Wipe up any spilled water
Plug the machine back in and turn the water supply on
Run a short cycle to check for leaks
