Sketch the head shape and hairline
Mark the main direction and volume of the hair
Divide the hair into thick section shapes
Draw each dread as a long, rope-like strand
Vary the thickness and length of the dreads
Add slight bends and curves for natural movement
Overlap some dreads to show depth
Leave small gaps between sections where needed
Add texture lines along each dread
Darken the roots and inner overlaps
Add loose flyaway hairs around the edges
Refine the outline and clean up the sketch
Shade to show form and separation between dreads
