Press the touchpad toggle key on the keyboard, often Fn + one of the function keys
Check the laptop settings for Touchpad or Mouse and enable it
Open Device Manager and enable the touchpad device
Update or reinstall the touchpad driver
Restart the laptop after changing settings
Connect an external mouse if needed to navigate the settings
Check BIOS or UEFI settings and enable the touchpad there
Make sure the touchpad is not physically disabled by a hardware switch
Clean the touchpad surface and try again
