Establish excavation boundaries and grades
Set up erosion, sediment, and dust controls
Install safety barriers, signage, and access control
Clear vegetation, debris, and obstructions
Strip and stockpile topsoil separately
Bring in excavation equipment and support crew
Excavate in planned stages and to required depths
Monitor slopes, shoring, and trench stability
Remove excavated material to designated stockpiles or haul-off areas
Check elevations, dimensions, and alignment continuously
Manage groundwater and surface water as needed
Inspect for hazards, utilities, and unstable conditions
Compact and prepare the subgrade
Backfill and grade as required
Verify final excavation with survey and inspection
Restore site, remove controls, and demobilize equipment
