Back up your data (photos, contacts, files) if possible
Sign out of accounts (Google/Apple/Microsoft) if the device supports it
Charge the device to at least 50%
Open Settings
Go to System or General Management (varies by device)
Select Reset or Backup and Reset
Choose Factory Data Reset / Erase All Data / Reset Phone
Confirm the action
Enter your PIN, password, or pattern if prompted
Select Erase Everything / Confirm
Wait for the device to restart and complete setup
Set up the device after the reset (language, Wi‑Fi, accounts)
If you can’t access Settings, use Recovery Mode
Power off the device
Press and hold the Recovery Mode button combo (varies by device)
Select Wipe data/factory reset using the volume keys and power key
Confirm the wipe
Reboot system now
Complete the initial setup
Verify the reset by checking that accounts/data are removed
