How To Figure Out Marginal Utility?

Identify the total utility at each quantity consumed

Calculate the change in total utility between two consecutive quantities

Calculate the change in quantity between those two quantities

Divide the change in total utility by the change in quantity

Use the formula: Marginal Utility = Change in Total Utility / Change in Quantity

For each additional unit consumed, repeat the calculation

If quantity increases by 1 unit, marginal utility equals the difference in total utility between the two units

Check whether marginal utility is positive, negative, or zero

Compare marginal utility across units to see how satisfaction changes with each additional unit
