Make sure the torch is turned off and completely cool
Use the torch in a well-ventilated area away from flames, sparks, and heat sources
Check that the refill valve on the torch is clean
Hold the torch upside down
Shake the butane canister if recommended by the manufacturer
Match the nozzle size of the butane canister to the torch valve if needed
Insert the butane nozzle firmly into the torch refill valve
Press down to transfer butane into the torch
Keep filling until the torch stops accepting fuel or the tank is full
Stop immediately if butane starts spraying out
Let the torch sit upright for a few minutes after filling
Adjust the flame control to the lowest setting before igniting
Test the torch in a safe area
Keep the torch away from your face and body during use
