Use small movements and vary pressure based on comfort
If fingering a vagina, aim the finger toward the back wall and avoid forcing
Keep the angle shallow at first and adjust gradually
If fingering an anus, start gently, use plenty of lube, and go slowly
Consider using a finger cot or changing lube if needed
Stop if there’s pain or bleeding
Wash hands before and after
Avoid inserting if you have cuts, infections, or sores
Use a condom on fingers/toys if there’s a risk of STI transmission
Avoid switching between anus and vagina without washing/changing gloves or condoms
