Check whether the tape is jammed, twisted, or loose
Open the correction tape casing carefully
Rewind the supply spool if the tape is slack
Realign the tape so it runs flat between the spools
Remove any torn or crumpled tape sections
Trim damaged tape ends with scissors if needed
Reattach the tape to the take-up spool
Turn the spool gently to test movement
Close the casing securely
Test the tape on paper
Replace the tape if it is broken beyond repair
