Back up any photos or videos from the SD card
Insert the SD card into the camera
Turn on the camera
Open the camera menu
Find the Format, Format Card, or Card Setup option
Select the SD card you want to format
Confirm the format action
Wait for the formatting process to finish
Eject the SD card safely if needed
Reinsert the card and check that it is ready to use
