Gather the jersey, frame, mat board, backing board, glass or acrylic, mounting pins or stitching thread, and a frame large enough to fit the jersey
Wash and dry your hands before handling the jersey
Lay the jersey flat and decide how you want it positioned
Iron or steam the jersey if needed, using low heat and a protective cloth
Cut the mat board and backing board to size if required
Place the jersey on the backing board and adjust it until centered and straight
Secure the jersey with acid-free pins, stitching, or archival mounting strips
Avoid using tape directly on the fabric
Place the mounted jersey behind the mat and glass or acrylic
Fit everything into the frame
Seal the frame and secure the backing
Add hanging hardware to the back of the frame
Hang the framed jersey away from direct sunlight and moisture
