Brush your hair to remove tangles
Dampen hair slightly if needed for grip
Gather a section of hair at the crown
Split the section into three equal strands
Cross the right strand over the middle strand
Cross the left strand over the middle strand
Add a small section of hair to the right strand
Cross the right strand over the middle strand
Add a small section of hair to the left strand
Cross the left strand over the middle strand
Keep adding hair from each side as you braid downward
Hold the braid firmly against your head
Continue until all hair is included
Finish with a regular three-strand braid
Secure the end with an elastic band
Smooth any loose sections with your fingers
