Defeat the Ender Dragon in the End
Find the dragon egg on top of the exit portal
Break the block the egg is sitting on if needed so it falls
Use a torch or piston to move the egg into an item form
Collect the dragon egg
In Java Edition, only one dragon egg exists per world unless commands are used
In Bedrock Edition, the dragon egg also appears after the first Ender Dragon defeat
