Mix an enzymatic pet urine cleaner according to the label
Test the cleaner on a hidden spot of the sofa first
Saturate the affected area with the enzymatic cleaner
Let it sit for the recommended time on the product label
Blot the area again with clean towels
Repeat the enzymatic treatment if the smell remains
Sprinkle baking soda over the dry area
Leave the baking soda on for several hours or overnight
Vacuum the baking soda thoroughly
Use a wet-dry vacuum if the cushion allows it
Remove and wash any removable cushion covers if the care label permits
Air out the sofa in a well-ventilated room
Place a fan near the sofa to speed drying
Avoid using ammonia-based cleaners
Avoid steam cleaning until the odor is fully treated
