Obtain an affidavit stating the RC is lost or damaged
Publish a public notice in a local newspaper if required in your area
Fill out the duplicate RC application form from the local transport office or online portal
Attach proof of identity and address
Attach vehicle details such as registration number, chassis number, and engine number
Attach the FIR, affidavit, and newspaper notice if required
Attach a copy of the original RC if available
Pay the prescribed duplicate RC fee
Submit the application to the Regional Transport Office or through the online transport service portal
Verify the vehicle if the transport authority asks for inspection
Collect the duplicate RC after approval
