Air out the car with all doors and windows open
Remove any spilled fuel immediately
Clean the affected area with soap and water
Use baking soda on carpets or upholstery to absorb odor
Sprinkle activated charcoal inside the car
Replace cabin air filter if it may be contaminated
Check and tighten the gas cap
Inspect for fuel leaks under the car and around the engine
Clean or replace fuel-soaked floor mats or seat covers
Use an odor-neutralizing car cleaner
Run the ventilation system with fresh air mode
Park the car in a well-ventilated area until the smell is gone
Have a mechanic inspect the fuel system if the smell persists
