Gather a pedal wrench or 15 mm wrench, depending on the pedal
Shift the bike into a stable position or place it in a repair stand
Identify the left pedal and right pedal
Turn the right pedal spindle counterclockwise to loosen it
Turn the left pedal spindle clockwise to loosen it
Apply steady force until the pedal breaks free
Unscrew the pedal by hand once it is loose
Repeat for the other pedal
Clean the threads after removal
