Open Word
Go to File
Select Options
Open the General tab
Clear the option related to Copilot or AI assistance if available
Go to File
Select Account
Turn off connected experiences if that option is available
Sign out of Microsoft 365 if needed
Close Word
Reopen Word
If Copilot still appears, uninstall or disable Microsoft 365 Copilot from your Microsoft account or admin settings
If you use a work or school account, ask your Microsoft 365 admin to disable Copilot for your license
Update Word if the setting does not appear
Restart your computer if changes do not take effect
