Let the top 1–2 inches of soil dry out between waterings
Remove standing water from saucers and trays
Water from the bottom instead of the top when possible

Use yellow sticky traps near the plants
Treat the soil with beneficial nematodes
Apply BTI mosquito bits or dunks to watering water
Repot the plant in fresh sterile potting mix if infestation is severe
Remove decaying leaves, stems, and organic debris from the soil
Quarantine infested plants away from healthy ones
Reduce overwatering and improve drainage
Clean pots and surrounding areas thoroughly
Inspect new plants before bringing them indoors
