Remove overripe fruit, food scraps, and trash immediately
Clean drains with boiling water, baking soda, and vinegar
Empty and scrub trash cans, recycling bins, and compost containers
Dry out damp soil in houseplants before watering again
Replace or top-dress infested potting soil
Use sticky traps near windows, sinks, and plants
Set out apple cider vinegar traps with a drop of dish soap
Cover fruit and store produce in the refrigerator
Fix leaks and eliminate standing water
Vacuum up visible gnats
Keep sinks, counters, and floors clean and dry
Seal cracks, gaps, and entry points around windows and doors
Use a fan to disrupt flying gnats
Dispose of infested plant material if needed
Repeat treatment daily until they are gone
