Open Audacity
Click Transport
Uncheck Loop Play
Press Shift + Space to stop loop playback
Make sure the playback region is not selected
Click in an empty area to clear the selection
Use Ctrl + A only if you want to select the entire track
Check the toolbar for any enabled loop button and turn it off
Restart Audacity if looping still continues
