Remove all clothing, linens, and stored fabrics from the cupboard
Inspect items for moths, larvae, webbing, holes, and shed skins
Wash, dry-clean, or hot-dry infested washable items
Freeze delicate items in sealed bags for several days if they cannot be washed
Vacuum shelves, corners, cracks, baseboards, and nearby floor areas thoroughly
Empty the vacuum immediately and dispose of the contents outside
Wipe down cupboard surfaces with soap and water or vinegar solution
Remove lint, hair, dust, and debris from all storage areas
Seal cracks, gaps, and openings around the cupboard
Store clean clothes in airtight containers or sealed garment bags
Use cedar blocks, lavender sachets, or moth repellents as a deterrent
Place pheromone moth traps near the cupboard to monitor adult moths
Keep the cupboard dry and well-ventilated
Avoid storing unwashed clothes, wool, silk, fur, or other natural fibers for long periods
Rotate stored items regularly and inspect them often
Repeat cleaning and monitoring until no signs of moth activity remain
