Gently burp the baby during and after feedings
Hold the baby upright for 15 to 20 minutes after feeding
Feed smaller amounts more slowly
Check that the baby has a good latch during breastfeeding
Use a slow-flow nipple if bottle-feeding
Pause feeding if hiccups start, then resume after they stop
Offer a pacifier to help relax the diaphragm
Keep the baby calm and avoid overfeeding
Make sure the baby is warm and comfortable
Let hiccups pass on their own if the baby is feeding and breathing normally
Contact a pediatrician if hiccups are frequent, prolonged, or seem to bother the baby
