Avoid SLS-containing toothpaste if it seems to trigger flares
Avoid picking, rubbing, or over-washing the area
See a dermatologist for prescription treatment
Use prescribed topical antibiotics such as metronidazole, erythromycin, or azelaic acid
Use prescribed oral antibiotics such as doxycycline, minocycline, or tetracycline when needed
Follow the full treatment course even if it improves early

Protect skin from sun and harsh weather
