Do not squeeze, pick, or pop it
Apply a warm compress to the outside of the nose for 10 to 15 minutes, 3 to 4 times a day
Keep the area clean with gentle washing
Use saline nasal spray to help keep the inside of the nose moist and clean
Avoid putting harsh acne products inside the nose
Use over-the-counter pain relief if needed and safe for you
Wash your hands before touching your face
Avoid nose hair plucking or irritation
See a doctor if it is very painful, swollen, spreading, draining pus, or not improving in a few days
Seek urgent medical care if you have fever, facial swelling, vision changes, or worsening redness
