Open the YouTube video
Click the three-dot menu below the video or next to the title
Select Show transcript
If available, the transcript will appear on the side or below the video
Click the three-dot menu in the transcript panel to toggle timestamps if needed
Copy the transcript text manually
If Show transcript is not available, check whether captions are enabled for the video
Use YouTube’s auto-generated captions if the transcript is not provided
Use a third-party transcript tool or website if needed
Paste the video URL into a transcript downloader or caption extractor
Download the captions file if the tool offers one
Convert the captions file to plain text if necessary
