Tap the top of the screen to show the toolbar
Tap the Home icon
Press the Kindle Home button if your device has one
Press the Back button until you return to the Home screen
On a Kindle app, tap the menu icon and select Home
If the screen is frozen, hold the power button and restart the Kindle
