Choose ripe papaya fruit
Remove seeds from the fruit
Wash seeds to remove pulp
Dry seeds for 1 to 2 days in shade
Fill a pot or seed tray with well-draining soil
Sow seeds about 1/4 inch deep
Keep soil moist, not soggy
Place in a warm, sunny location
Wait for germination in 2 to 6 weeks
Thin seedlings and keep the strongest ones
Transplant seedlings when 6 to 12 inches tall
