Thread a needle and knot the end of the thread
Align the fabric edges to be sewn
Insert the needle from the inside or hidden side of the fabric
Pull the thread through until the knot stops it
Make small, even stitches along the seam line
Keep the stitches close together for a secure seam
Pull the thread snug after each stitch
Continue stitching to the end of the seam
Tie off the thread with a secure knot
Trim any excess thread
Press the seam flat if needed
