Wait until the plant is at least 6 to 8 inches tall
Harvest in the morning after the dew dries
Use clean scissors or pinch with your fingers
Cut or pinch just above a pair of leaves
Remove the top growth first to encourage branching
Take no more than one-third of the plant at a time
Harvest from the top and outer stems first
Leave several sets of leaves on each stem
Remove flower buds as soon as they appear
Pick regularly to keep the plant producing new growth
Avoid cutting stems too close to the base
Harvest from multiple stems instead of one stem only
Keep the plant watered after harvesting
Feed lightly if needed to support regrowth
