Harvest dill when the plant is 6 to 8 inches tall or when it has enough leafy growth
Use clean scissors or garden shears
Cut outer leaves first, leaving the center growth intact
Snip stems near the base or just above a leaf node
Harvest in the morning after dew has dried
Take no more than one-third of the plant at a time
Avoid harvesting too much if you want the plant to keep producing
For seeds, wait until flower heads turn brown and seeds begin to dry
Cut seed heads and place them upside down in a paper bag
Store fresh dill in the refrigerator or dry it for later use
