Give plenty of supervised tummy time every day
Place toys just out of reach to encourage movement
Get down on the floor and model crawling
Use a rolled towel under the chest for support during tummy time
Place hands and knees gently in crawling position for short practice
Encourage reaching, shifting weight, and rocking on hands and knees
Put interesting objects slightly to one side to promote turning and scooting
Use a blanket or mat with good traction for practice
Reduce time in swings, seats, and bouncers
Let the baby spend time barefoot or in non-slip socks
Offer praise and encouragement during attempts
Make sure the baby has enough floor time each day
Talk to a pediatrician if the baby shows no progress or seems weak or stiff
