Open Instagram
Tap the Messages icon
Find the chat you want to hide
Swipe left on the chat on iPhone or press and hold on Android
Tap Delete to remove the chat from your inbox
Tap Restrict to limit the chat without deleting it
Tap Mute to stop notifications from the chat
Move the chat to General or Primary if using message requests or inbox categories
Archive is not available for Instagram chats
Use Vanish Mode to make messages disappear after they are seen and the chat is closed
