Open WhatsApp
Long-press the chat you want to hide
Tap Archive
To keep archived chats hidden, go to WhatsApp Settings
Tap Chats
Turn on Keep chats archived
To hide a chat with a lock, open the chat
Tap the contact or group name
Tap Chat lock
Turn on Chat lock
Use fingerprint, Face ID, or device passcode to unlock
To view locked chats, pull down on the chat list and enter your passcode or biometric authentication
To hide a chat on Android using archive, keep it archived and do not open it from the main chat list
To hide a chat on iPhone using archive, swipe left on the chat and tap Archive
