Place the cursor where you want the Roman numeral
Go to the Insert tab
Click Page Number if you want Roman numerals in page numbering
Choose the location and format you want
Select a Roman numeral style such as i, ii, iii or I, II, III
Click OK or Apply
If you want Roman numerals as text, type them manually using I, V, X, L, C, D, and M
If you want automatic numbering, use the Numbering feature and choose a Roman numeral format
To change existing page numbers to Roman numerals, open Page Number Format
Select the Roman numeral format under Number format
Click OK to save the changes
