Measure the window width and decide where the curtain rod should sit
Mark the bracket positions on both sides with a pencil
Use a level to make sure the marks are even
Check for wall studs or use appropriate wall anchors
Drill pilot holes at the marked spots
Insert wall anchors if needed
Screw the brackets into place
Place the curtain rod onto the brackets
Attach the curtains to the rod
Secure the rod according to the bracket design
Test that the rod is level and firmly installed
