Measure the room and mark cabinet locations on the wall

Check the floor for level and shim if necessary
Mark a level reference line for upper cabinets
Mark a level line for base cabinets
Assemble cabinets if required
Start with upper cabinets if installing both
Hold the first cabinet in place and fasten it to studs
Use shims to keep cabinets plumb and level
Install adjacent cabinets next to each other
Clamp face frames together before fastening
Check alignment at every step
Fasten cabinets to each other through the face frames or sides
Continue installing cabinets across the wall
Install base cabinets and level them with shims
Secure base cabinets to wall studs
Install filler strips if needed
Cut openings for plumbing, outlets, or appliances if needed
Install doors, drawers, and hardware
Attach countertops after cabinets are fully secured
Recheck all fasteners and alignment before finishing
