How to Install Insulation in Walls?

Turn off power to the wall area and remove outlet covers, switch plates, and any trim blocking access

Inspect the wall cavity for wiring, plumbing, moisture, mold, or damage

Choose the correct insulation type and R-value for the wall

Measure the wall cavities

Cut insulation batts or rolls to fit snugly, if using batt insulation

Insert insulation into each cavity without compressing it

Split batts around wires, pipes, and other obstructions

Fill gaps and corners completely

Use a vapor barrier if required by local code and climate

Secure the insulation if needed with staples, supports, or netting

For blown-in insulation, drill access holes at the required locations

Insert the blower hose and fill each cavity to the proper density

Patch drilled holes after blown-in installation

Reinstall outlet covers, switch plates, and trim

Check for missed spots, gaps, or compressed areas

Dispose of scraps and clean the work area
