Check your Minecraft version
Download the correct OptiFine installer from the official OptiFine website
Make sure Java is installed on your computer
Open the downloaded OptiFine `.jar` file
Click Install in the OptiFine installer window
Wait for the installation to finish
Open the Minecraft Launcher
Select the OptiFine profile
Click Play
Open Minecraft and confirm OptiFine is working in the game settings
