Gather siding panels, starter strips, trim, nails, underlayment, and flashing
Remove old siding if necessary
Inspect the wall sheathing for damage and repair any rotten or loose areas
Install a weather-resistant barrier over the wall
Install flashing around windows, doors, and other openings
Mark level reference lines on the wall
Install the starter strip along the bottom edge
Cut siding panels to fit as needed
Begin installing the first row of siding from the bottom
Nail or fasten each panel according to manufacturer instructions
Leave proper expansion gaps where required
Overlap siding pieces correctly
Install corner trim and J-channel around openings
Continue installing rows upward, keeping each course level
Trim the final row to fit at the top
Install the top trim or finishing pieces
Check all fasteners, seams, and edges for secure placement
Seal joints and openings if required by the siding type
Clean the work area and remove debris
