Park on a flat, level surface
Put the transmission in Park or in gear
Set the parking brake
Turn off the engine and remove the key
Chock the wheels that will stay on the ground
Check the owner’s manual for approved jack points
Inspect the jack and jack stands for damage
Loosen lug nuts slightly before lifting if removing a wheel
Position the jack under the correct lift point
Raise the car slowly and steadily
Lift only high enough for the work needed
Place jack stands under approved support points
Lower the car onto the jack stands
Gently shake the car to confirm stability
Never work under a car supported only by a jack
Keep hands and feet clear while lifting and lowering
Lower the car slowly when finished
Remove the jack stands before fully lowering if needed
Tighten lug nuts to the correct torque after lowering
Recheck that all tools are clear before driving
