Make sure you and your friends are using the same Minecraft edition
Make sure you are on the same game version
Get your friend’s world invite, server address, or Realm invite
Open Minecraft and sign in to your account
Go to Friends, Servers, or Realms depending on the game mode
Accept the invite if you received one
Join the same server or Realm if you have the address or invite
If joining a friend’s world, have your friend open the world to LAN or invite you
Make sure multiplayer is enabled in the world settings
Check that both of you have stable internet connections
Make sure privacy and parental settings allow multiplayer
Restart Minecraft if the friend does not appear
Restart the game or device if joining fails
Ask your friend to resend the invite if it does not show up
Add your friend to your friends list if needed
Join through the Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, or Microsoft account friends list if supported
