Right-click the desktop and select Personalize
Choose Background
Select Picture, Slideshow, or Solid color
Click Browse to choose your wallpaper image
Set the wallpaper position if needed
Click Save changes or Apply
Make sure the image file is not deleted or moved
Keep the wallpaper image in a permanent folder
Avoid using temporary folders like Downloads or Desktop if files are often cleaned
If using a slideshow, keep all images in one folder
Disable wallpaper-changing apps or themes if they overwrite your settings
Check power-saving or sync settings that may change desktop background
Restart the laptop to confirm the wallpaper remains set
