Locate the nest and trails
Remove moisture sources and fix leaks
Seal cracks, gaps, and entry points
Trim tree branches and vegetation away from the structure
Use bait stations labeled for carpenter ants
Apply ant-specific insecticide to cracks, voids, and nest areas as directed on the label
Replace or treat damaged, damp wood
Vacuum visible ants and discard the vacuum contents immediately
Repeat baiting and treatment until activity stops
