Squash them with a shoe, glove, or paper towel
Vacuum them up and empty the vacuum bag or canister into a sealed bag
Spray them directly with soapy water
Use sticky traps on tree trunks or poles
Scrape off and destroy egg masses
Seal collected insects in a bag and freeze or dispose of them
Report large infestations to your local agricultural or extension office
Remove tree-of-heaven and other host plants if possible
Check vehicles, outdoor furniture, and firewood for hitchhiking insects before moving them
