Itching or irritation in the vaginal area (vulva)
Burning sensation, especially during urination or sex
Thick, white, “cottage cheese”–like vaginal discharge
Redness, swelling, or soreness of the vulva
Watery discharge that may still be accompanied by itching or irritation
A rash or small cracks in the skin around the vagina
Symptoms that often worsen in the days before a period
Symptoms that do not have a strong or fishy odor (odor is more typical of bacterial vaginosis)
Symptoms that improve with antifungal treatment (if you have used it before and it was appropriate)
Symptoms that may recur, especially after recent antibiotics, uncontrolled diabetes, pregnancy, or frequent damp/moist conditions
