Open the chat with the person
Check the top of the chat for their last seen or online status
If you do not see it, their last seen may be hidden in privacy settings
If you cannot see their last seen, they may have blocked you
If you have turned off your own last seen, you may also not be able to see others’ last seen
Check the contact info screen for status details
Look for “online” when the person is active
Use WhatsApp Web or the mobile app to view the chat status
Make sure your app is updated to the latest version
